Tome Slides Are Pages, Not Presentation Slides

The tome slides format catches people out late. Tome slides render as scrollable, tile-based pages designed for a browser, not as fixed 16:9 frames designed for a projector. That tome slides distinction is invisible while you build and painfully obvious in a boardroom, when tome slides reflow instead of filling the screen the way a deck should.

Rebuild as Real Slides

What Breaks When Tome Slides Meet a Projector

Fixed aspect ratio is the whole contract of a presentation: what you see is what the room sees. Tome slides negotiate with the viewport instead, so tome slides wrap differently, a tile scrolls when it should not, and your careful composition rearranges itself. Real slides refuse to move, which is exactly the property tome slides never had.

Turning Tome Slides Content Into Real Slides

The content inside tome slides is usually fine; the container is the problem. Paste your tome slides text, or upload the document it came from, and generation rebuilds tome slides as structured 16:9 frames with proper hierarchy. You keep the thinking that went into your tome slides and lose the format that fought you.

Bring the Content Over

Copy the text out of your tome slides, or upload the source document. Nothing about the old tile layout needs to survive the trip.

People Who Left Tome Slides Behind

Format problems, solved

Gregory Sandel

Investor Relations

My tome slides scrolled during a board meeting and I watched directors lose the thread. Fixed frames ended that tome slides embarrassment permanently.

Nadine Fournier

University Lecturer

Lecture halls need one frame at a time. Tome slides kept revealing the next tile early, which ruins every tome slides build-up I had planned.

Owen Bramley

Startup Founder

Investors asked for the file. Tome slides gave me a link; they wanted a deck, and that tome slides difference cost me a meeting.

Sasha Petrov

Design Lead

I liked the tome slides aesthetic, honestly. Tome slides just do not survive contact with a 4:3 conference room projector from 2014.

Miriam Osei

Grants Manager

Funders open attachments, not web links. Rebuilding my tome slides as a real deck turned tome slides submissions from awkward to routine.

Tomasz Wilk

Sales Engineer

Client laptops, no internet, HDMI only. Tome slides assume a browser and a connection, and half my tome slides rooms have neither.

Tome Slides FAQ

Format questions answered

What are tome slides?

Tome slides are the tile-based pages produced by Tome, an AI storytelling tool. They scroll in a browser rather than presenting as fixed 16:9 frames, which is why people notice the difference only when projecting.

Can tome slides export to PowerPoint?

Not natively, because tome slides do not map cleanly onto slide geometry. Rebuilding the content as real slides here produces editable .pptx that opens in Microsoft PowerPoint, Google Slides, and Keynote.

Why do tome slides look different on other screens?

Tome slides adapt to the viewport instead of holding a fixed ratio, so wrapping and spacing shift by device. A conventional deck locks the frame, which is the behaviour tome slides deliberately traded away.

How do I move my tome slides content across?

Copy the tome slides text or upload the original document, then let generation rebuild the structure. The words from your tome slides survive; the tile container does not.

Will I lose my images?

Re-add tome slides images during editing, or let generation propose new ones. Visual assets from tome slides can be downloaded and dropped back into the rebuilt deck.

Is a 16:9 deck really necessary?

If you present tome slides on projectors, share files, or hand decks to colleagues, yes. Tome slides suit web-native reading, but rooms and email attachments still run on fixed slides.

What formats do I get instead of tome slides?

Rebuilt tome slides export as editable PowerPoint and PDF, plus browser presenting. That combination covers the offline and file-based situations tome slides struggle with.

Is rebuilding free to try?

Yes: three decks per month free, up to 15 slides each, with export. That covers your most important tome slides and judge the result.

Does the rebuilt deck look generic?

Rebuilt tome slides use 800+ templates with automated layout checks, so the visual quality that attracted people to tome slides is not what you give up.

Can I still present from a browser?

Yes: rebuilt tome slides present full-screen in a tab, so you keep the convenience tome slides offered while gaining a real file for everything else.
